DAY 1, Friday - Arrive in Tivat, Transfer to Budva

Arrive in Tivat, Montenegro and transfer to Budva, on the shimmering Adriatic Sea. After checking into the hotel, the rest of the day is yours to get acquainted with this charming coastal town. Tonight, at approximately 6 PM, meet your Tour Manager for an orientation meeting on the delightful journey that lies ahead, followed by a Welcome Drink with your fellow travelers. We recommend that you select flights which arrive in your destination no later than 4 PM or earlier, if possible

DAY 2, Saturday - Explore Budva, Medieval Kotor, Drive to Dubrovnik

Embark on a walking tour of Budva this morning. A stroll through the narrow streets and alleyways of the medieval Stari Grad (old town), reveals ancient churches and palaces, constructed from local gray stone. View the ramparts built by the Venetians surrounding the old town and citadel. Following your tour, make a quick photo stop at Sveti Stefan, one of Montenegro’s most famous sites. Afterward, travel north towards the fjord-like Bay of Kotor – the view is unforgettable! Tour the well-preserved medieval town of Kotor, a maze of museums Venetian palaces, churches and squares, before continuing the drive towards Dubrovnik. Arrive in Dubrovnik, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and check in to your hotel with free time to relax, or explore on your own. Tonight, be sure to enjoy the spectacular sunset as you walk along Dubrovnik’s cobbled streets; see the glowing buildings and the fortifications accented against the night sky

DAY 3, Sunday - Full Day in Dubrovnik

A full day to independently explore extraordinary Dubrovnik. Or, join the optional Dubrovnik City Tour. The morning walking tour in Dubrovnik's historic Old Town, with its dramatic centuries-old walls, reveals the city's treasures. Visit the Franciscan Monastery housing the world's oldest and still functioning pharmacy. Continue along the main pedestrian way to the monumental Sponza Palace, home of the state archives. Pass the City Bell Tower on the way to the Rector's Palace, an outstanding blend of Gothic and Renaissance architecture, Orlando's Column and the Church of St. Blaise, the city's patron saint. Stop at the magnificent circular Onofrio Fountain, with its gurgling clean water. The rest of the day is yours to wander the never-ending lanes of the Old Town. Tonight, perhaps attend the optional Traditional Croatian Dinner. Take a short drive from Dubrovnik through the Croatian countryside to a lovely homestead, where you will be welcomed with tasty starters, such as local cheese and Dalmatian prosciutto. Take in the lush surroundings while savoring a traditional meal consisting of time-honored dishes, carefully prepared with fresh ingredients from the farm

DAY 4, Monday - Visit Mostar en Route to Sarajevo

Depart Dubrovnik and travel to Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The scenic drive takes you through the mountains and along the gorge of the Neretva River to Mostar, a medieval town in northern Herzegovina. Learn about the many fascinating cultures and religions that have left a trace on this city. Mostar was once an important trade center under Turkish rule. Visit the old bazaar, the Turkish House and view Stari Most, the historic 16th century arched stone. The journey continues to Sarajevo, a religious melting pot, often referred to as the Jerusalem of Europe. Arrive in Sarajevo in the afternoon with time at leisure. Tonight, try traditional Bosnian cuisine at one of the many restaurants in the city

DAY 5, Tuesday - Full Day in Sarajevo

Today is at leisure to enjoy the pleasures of Sarajevo independently, or join the optional Sarajevo City Tour. Embark on a morning tour of Sarajevo, a beautiful city with a complex history. Arrive at the picturesque Turkish Bazaar (Bascarsija), an ancient trading place with artisan workshops. View many examples of splendid Ottoman architecture around the city center. The city is truly a “living history museum”, where mosques built by the Ottomans sit alongside buildings created by the Austro-Hungarians. Visit the Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque, the most important Islamic structure in the country, one of the world's finest examples of Ottoman architecture. View the now neglected stadium from the 1984 Winter Olympic Games and visit the Gavrilo Princip Museum, dedicated to Archduke Ferdinand. On your walk, look for the poignant Sarajevo Roses, flower-shaped memorials in the pavement filled with red cement, which are one of the few reminders left of the war. In the afternoon, join the optional Sarajevo Gourmet Food Tour. Indulge in local flavors and taste delicious authentic Bosnian food, from cheeses & cured meat to cooked meals & rakija (a regional homemade brandy)

DAY 6, Wednesday - Scenic Drive to Zagreb

A scenic drive today takes you from Sarajevo to Zagreb. Along the way stop for lunch on your own. Arrive in Zagreb, capital of Croatia, with its blend of 18th and 19th century Austro-Hungarian architecture and rough socialist structures. After check in to your hotel, spend time at leisure. Tonight, discover Zagreb’s diverse food scene and vibrant nightlife

DAY 7, Thursday - Croatia’s Capital of Zagreb, Travel to Ljubljana

Embark on a morning city tour of Zagreb. Begin at the busy Kaptol Square in Upper Town, dominated by the monumental Zagreb Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary with its soaring twin spires, its cobblestone streets, and red tile roofed buildings. Walk along Kravi Most, to St. Mark's Church with its brightly colored roof and the 17th century Jesuit Church of St. Catherine. View the Pope’s tower and Stone Gate, before a stop at the Parliament building. Afterward, take a scenic drive to Ljubljana, Slovenia’s charming capital. Arrive and check in to your hotel. Tonight is free to explore Ljubljana’s trendy restaurants and cool cafes.

DAY 8, Friday - Full Day in Ljubljana

Today is free for individual explorations. In the morning, join the optional Ljubljana City Tour. Take a walking tour of the pedestrianized old town with its unique mixture of Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture. Visit the lively open-air market, Three Bridges Square and the Town Hall accented by Robba Fountain, inspired by Bernini's Four Rivers Fountain in Rome. In the afternoon, participate in the optional Lake Bled & Radovljica. Travel to the spectacular city of Bled, exquisitely set amidst the Julian Alps. Your tour begins with a visit to the imposing 11th century Bled Castle, the oldest in Slovenia, perched on a steep cliff high above the lake, creating a dramatic backdrop to the city. Spend time at leisure to stroll by the lake, or treat yourself to the famous Bled cream cake. Afterward, visit the picturesque medieval town of Radovljica. The old town is one of the best preserved towns in Slovenia dating from 15th and 16th century. Afterward, head back to Ljubljana
